The Event Recap: Youth Open Gym at the Kroc Center—April 10th

On Thursday, April 10th, The Salvation Army Kroc Center, in partnership with Shoot Basketballs NOT People, hosted a FREE Youth Open Gym Basketball Event that brought together 65 young athletes ages 8–16 for an unforgettable evening of basketball, mentorship, and community connection.

A huge thank you to the Philadelphia 76ers and their outstanding community relations team for delivering a high-energy, skill-building basketball clinic that inspired and engaged every young participant. Their support not only elevated the experience but also reaffirmed the power of sports to uplift and unite our youth.

From drills and games to positive coaching and encouragement, the event served as a safe and supportive space for young people to grow on and off the court. We’re grateful to everyone who showed up, volunteered, and made this event a success.
